Mortasheen(originally called necromon) is a setting created by Jonathan Wojcik that isn't directly canon with Noisy Tenant, except for a few monsters (mostly the Unknown class) that make references or cameos. Mortasheen is a continent-sized city in either an alternate universe or a very distant future. This industrial labyrinth is intensely polluted, monolithic buildings are built in the more urbanized areas, there are many diverse biomes and the dominant technology is bio-engineering. It's a world full of monsters and mutants that live in unending anarchy, where maddened scientists create/clone/tame creatures and use them for battles, protection, assistance, chores and more. But despite their violent nature, most shouldn't be classified as "bad guys;" it's just their way of living, and both has been & will be for quite some time.
The entire list of canon monsters can be seen here.
Currently they are separated into 13 classes:
- Bioconstruct (The average bio-engineered monstie)
- Arthropoid (fusion of a human & insect)
- Vampiric (vampire, usually aquatic-based)
- Botanical (plant-monster)
- Ectosaur (''ghost'' dinosaur)
- Zombie-Spawn (the rare offspring of two zombies attempting to mate)
- Joker (weird, monstrous clown-thing)
- Unknown (everything alien and para-dimensional)
- Biomecha (robot-monster)
- Devilbird ("demonic," bird-like creature with debilitating psychic capability)
- Wormbrain (a human-descended creature puppeteered by a colony of sapient parasites)
- Fectoid (made of literal disease)
- Garbage (the mostly worthless byproducts of mad science)
